We just got home from an amazing trip…visiting my family in Iowa! I cannot wait to write about all of the fun we had, and include some pictures taken that captured some great memories. But for now, I thought I’d do a little “junk food” post on some of the many things [lately] that have been big hits for the smallest nugget of the Reason family…miss Sadie Kate! <3
Amber teething necklace!
Oh dear, I am going to make a confession and share that I do not love the look of the amber teething necklace. It’s definitely not my style, but I am someone that sometimes sacrifices practicality, or in this case, amazingness, for the sake of style. Hadley had one, and at first my husband thought it was a sham, until ironically enough, we lost her necklace after we took it off for an x-ray, and we started experiencing a very angry baby. Aaron opted to get a new one rush delivered, and after it arrived, we had our angel baby Hadley back. Sadie was gifted one of her own, but I hadn’t put it on yet. While Aaron was away for two-ish weeks, he came home to my sad news of Sadie being up at least three times every night- only one of those for a feeding. 🙁 “Time for her necklace, Christie.” Ugh, I didn’t want to. But guess what? First day of having it on…slept through the night. And basically every night since. I am a believer, all over again! We’ve had luck both times with this necklace. (*If you aren’t comfortable with it being on baby’s neck, I’ve heard it still works by wrapping it as an anklet!)
Augie & Lola Pacifier Clips
Sure, you can buy pacifier clips at the store, but these ones are a million times cuter, and since it’s something you have to see on your baby, it might as well be adorable! I have three: one for the car seat, one for the stroller, and one for when I am wearing her (so that I can clip it on without her spitting it out and falling to the ground.) A little bonus, some patterns are on sale for 50% off! 🙂
Mustela 2 in 1 Hair & Body Wash
For my baby shower with Hadley, my friend Kim made me a gift bag full of her tried and true baby items—this baby shampoo was one of them. At first I wasn’t sure about the smell (it seemed a bit “grown up” smelling,) but I soon realized that you only need the littlest amount, and it does wonders. There was a stage with Hadley where she got “stinky car seat head” and this shampoo quickly eradicated it. This time around, Sadie has a very sensitive scalp, and this is the only shampoo that I’ve tried that doesn’t dry her out, and she smells scrumptious afterwards. 🙂
Munchkin Nursery Projector and Sound System
This one is so good, we have two! Both girls love white noise (specifically, the “ocean” sound) and this one also has a projector that can display three different scenes. It has a sleep timer as well as a voice sensor, so it will turn back on if one of the girls wakes up in the middle of the night.
Nuby Wacky Teething Ring
My friend Michelle gave us one of these, saying that her little boy loved it. I can honestly say, that I’ve tried many different types of teethers for Sadie, and this little teether can keep her content longer than I would think possible. All kinds of little textures, and it even makes crinkly noises! She loves it even more when I put it in the freezer for her!
I am not one that is brave enough to put Sadie in the sink, and she’s not yet ready for the bathtub…what’s a mom to do in the in-between stage?! This tub was passed on to me from a lovely friend, and I am so thankful! Baby can be at an incline, or sitting up, and let me tell you, it is amazing in preventing the dreaded “water in the eyes” sadness. It’s a pretty big tub, but even then, we would place it inside Hadley’s bathtub and just fill that up versus the whole tub. This time around, I have it on the counter when I bathe Sadie. It’s definitely her favorite time of the day, and she loves splashing in it. 🙂
So, maybe saying this is a favorite of Sadie’s is a stretch, but I am in love with these Baby Bling Bows headbands! (*Currently on sale with Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale!) They’re soft, stretchy, and help camouflage the glorious stage of infant hair loss. 🙂 If the Baby Bling price point isn’t your thing, these Ema Jane headbands are definitely a close second favorite of mine, and get you every color under the rainbow for less than $20. 🙂
Little Giraffe Luxe Blanket
My Aunt Julie gifted Hadley one of these for my baby shower, and it ended up being (and still is) one of Hadley’s most cherished items that she cannot go to sleep without. She continued the tradition and got one for Sadie. Since birth, I’ve placed these blankets next to them in their cribs. It’s become nearly a trigger of comfort and peace, and I can safely say that Sadie loves hers just as much as her big sister does. They’re incredibly high quality, and a beautiful, soft material. They’re on sale Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale, and I would highly suggest grabbing one before the original price goes up- they’re worth the splurge, but why pay full price if you don’t have to!? 🙂
Before I turn this “few items” list into an essay, I better stop while I can. 😉 Baby stuff can be so fun, it’s easy to get a little carried away! I can’t wait to take the time to write about our vacation to Iowa, but in the meantime, I hope you have a great weekend!
Happy Friday, and thanks for reading!
PS: I was asked by Tiny Beans (the amazzzzzing [free!] app for keeping track of a photo journal for your baby/child; it emails anyone you want, little daily updates of the pictures, videos, and memories you upload) to takeover their Instagram next Thursday, July 17th! They can be found at @tinybeanskids, and I can be found at @henleyandhadley (my blog account) 🙂 Tune in for “A day in the life” of the Reason girls!
