Hi there! It’s been a bit since I’ve written; those fun summer days with the girls along with Hadley and Sadie starting school (and Hadley’s first year of partially homeschooling with me- but I will save that for another post :-)) got all of my attention, but I am finally getting into a groove and excited to get back at it by sharing a few things I have been loving lately! Who doesn’t love peeking at a few things that one finds either useful, delightful, or fabulous!? Just be warned: my products are going to be a little bit all over the place- from beauty to style to kids to practical, ha!

-The beginning of September is always a hot topic for people- does it feel like fall? Is it still summer? We are slowly transitioning (because I’m an October baby and love me some pumpkin spice,) beginning with fall candles in the house! While I love a good 3-wick of BBW Leaves, I discovered the Capri Blue fall candles (in spiced cider and pumpkin clove) and LOVED both. The cider one comes in a gorgeous neutral jar, so that’s been my go-to until I have the fall decorations out once it’s officially fall. (I linked Nordstrom’s vs. Anthropologie- because Nordstrom always has free shipping/returns and will price adjust if it goes on sale. 😉 )
-If you know me, you know I love a good pair of sunglasses. I used to be a sucker for dropping a lot on a big designer, but this summer I’ve found a happy medium with some high-quality glasses that feel as good as the high-end brands, are polarized (my favorite- it makes such a difference!) and amazingly affordable. I opted for the “Carsons” (also in the photo of me at the top of this post) because I wanted a pair of glasses that were a bit oversized and durable (my poor aviators have had to get readjusted from getting smashed a few times this summer, ha!) These ones are typically $85, but if you use my code christier25, you can get $25 off any frame (not just the Carsons- although I recommend mine!) 😉
-If you are a blonde or your color tends to go brassy once your coloring isn’t as fresh, then I have something to share for you! 🙂 I recently discovered this purple shampoo and conditioner, and I am SO happy with how it has kept my color fresh and kept the brassy at bay. I usually use it once a week to revive my color, and follow the directions on the bottle (leave it in for a few minutes.) It smells amazing, leaves my hair feeling so light and clean, but also incredibly soft. Bonus is that it is really affordable, especially for salon-quality products, and a shampoo conditioner set at that!
–Hadley’s lunchbox…oh my goodness! If you’re a parent, I’m sure you’ve seen bento-box style lunchboxes all over the internet, and while I had been eyeing them a while, I wondered if they were worth the price. I always feel a little guilt every time we use a plastic bag (which her lunches typically use a few,) on top of the fact that Hadley isn’t so good at sealing them once she’s used them and wants to put them back. I finally went for it after a little research (can’t believe I researched this, but that’s sometimes parenting…right?) and we went for this Yumbox. We are on week two of it, and it’s a hit! It’s dishwasher safe, but I either do a quick hand-wash, or just wash the shell by hand and put the inner part in the top rack of the dishwasher. I don’t know what it is…but I pack lunches 5x faster when using this, I think its the beauty of organizing that gets me, ha! Also, her lunch bag that we already had (so cute and great price!) fits the Yumbox perfectly with a thin ice pack. I still have a bag of cheddar bunnies that I pack in the lunchbag for her snack time.
-Last but not least, my favorite buy of the summer: my Kindle! Hear me out, you “I prefer the paper” people (I was in your shoes pre-Kindle.) I couldn’t stand reading on my iPad, but I felt like any time I opened a book, someone was calling for me. Aaron got a Kindle for work, and he quickly fell in love with it and surprised me with one. I was hesitant due to my iPad feelings…but let me tell you, this one looks like a real piece of paper! I spend about 30 minutes laying with the girls during naptime (in their blacked-out dark room, mind you,) and in that time, I am able to get a great amount of reading done. It’s light, gentle on my eyes, and for some reason I feel like I am able to read with so much more efficiency. I keep it in my diaper bag, and am even able to increase the font and read it on the treadmill (sounds wild, but I swear it works for me…there were moments at the gym I was reading and important part and crying while jogging, ha!) If you’ve been thinking about one, go for it, I am never looking back with mine! I plan to do a blog post soon of the books I’ve read on it so far- I haven’t read so many books in quite some time, and as cheesy as it sounds, I am stoked to be a bookworm again! 😆 (PS: I linked Amazon’s certified refurb, because that is what Aaron and I both have and it still came absolutely brand new, but a good $20 cheaper!)
That’s all for now! While that’s quite the array, I promise there’s something for everyone in there, ha! I’m very-much looking forward to this weekend, we have some fun plans to kick off the weekend and then plan to take it easy with the girls for the rest of it.
Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading!
